Michael D. Perkins
Michael D. Perkins has spent his life serving — in uniform, on patrol, behind the counter of his own businesses, and around the table with his neighbors. Four years in the United States Air Force. Thirty-four years as a police officer. Forty years married to his wife Kelly, raising two children and now four grandchildren together in Oakland. Mike owns and operates four businesses here in town, and for the last forty years he has been one of the leading hands behind the Oakland community Thanksgiving dinner — a quiet measure of what kind of neighbor he is. That service has carried into public office too. He has chaired the Oakland Town Council for nearly all of the last twenty years, served four years on the Kennebec County budget committee, and previously represented District 66 in the Maine House for three terms (2016–2022). Mike is running again because he believes District 66 deserves the same kind of representation it had under him for those three terms — and what Oakland has gotten from him for a generation: someone who shows up, listens, and gets the work done. Not politics as usual — practical, accountable representation rooted in Oakland, the police force he served, and the community he and Kelly have called home.
